It is with immense pride that I introduce myself as the Headteacher of Laurence Jackson School from September 2018. I feel very privileged to be leading this impressive school through the next phase of its development and determined to see Laurence Jackson School go from strength to strength.
You have placed your children’s education in our hands and that is a responsibility that as a school we take very seriously. Laurence Jackson is a school where all the staff believe in the potential of each individual child. Our rules at school are simple: we want our students to be ready, respectful and safe, and these rules are underpinned by the school’s motto of ‘improving life chances’ which embodies our belief that every child can achieve regardless of their background or personal circumstances.
It is a testament to the hard work of staff and students that results for 2018 show improving outcomes in many subject areas. In particular, overall progress and attainment have improved from 2017 and there has been a significant increase in the number of students achieving top grades. However, the governors, staff and parents are not complacent and share a great ambition for the future of the school and all its students that we are determined to deliver.
